What do you have going on this week? Read on...
For starters, I want to ask you do you volunteer, work, or serve in your local church? Do you run your own ministry or business? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then I want to encourage you to keep reading, because this is the post for you dear co-laborer. I want to encourage you to get things done this week!
Let me just say, I know what it’s like to have God-ordained assignments at church and/or in your personal ministry or business, and find yourself asking, “Lord, how am I going to get all of this done?” I need to add here, that it's also a good practice to reassess to see if you're actually doing a God-thing or a good thing. In other words, we have to be careful that we don't take on additional responsibilities that have nothing to do with God's will or this particular season.
So it's also good to know that when God has called you to do something, He will also give you the grace, wisdom, and energy needed for the task. Your job within the process of getting things done will be to stay in prayer (connection with the One who knows all that you can accomplish) and follow His divine flow for the project and the day. The Bible tells us in Psalm 37:23, “The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.”
With that being said, following God’s lead as we work on an assigned task or responsibility at church, volunteer opportunity, or even in our own ministries or businesses, will be crucial to finishing whatever we’re working on unto completion and well.
I’ll tell you, just last week, I not only had a full work week, but one of the days I had a very big writing project to complete. So I blocked about four hours of time and eliminated all distractions, while also letting my hubby know that I would be out of pocket for that timeframe (which he totally understood). And sis, let me tell you. I got the job done with much prayer, focus, and diligence! The Holy Spirit led me every step of the way and gave me the grace and wisdom that I needed for the task at hand. And trust me. He can do the same for you!
So here's a quick tip for this season. Block your time! Whatever you need to accomplish today, tomorrow, or this week, consider having a “time-blocked” schedule. Meaning from 9am-10am, you may work on responding to emails and inbox messages on your social media platforms, 10:15am – 11:15am you may have a meeting, 11:30am – 12:30pm could be your lunch break, and from 12:45pm to 3:00pm you could start working on research or ministry tasks, etc. Got the point, here?
Also, pray before you commit or start a new project or task. In other words, before you say “yes” to another thing, pray. Check your calendar. Tell people that you will get back to them to let them know for sure. Don’t make quick decisions without weighing everything out. Because once you say yes, you’re committed. You’re in! (And you want to be a woman of your word) After you've prayed, go forth on the wisdom that God has provided to you through His Holy Spirit.
Lastly, school is about to begin (or may already be in session for those of you who have children), so plan ahead and well, as best as you can. Actually, whatever season you're in, don't leave anything to chance. Try looking at your week early and meal prep (especially if you know that you have a busy week coming). This will help alleviate undue stress, overwhelm, and frustration. Also, don't ever get too busy with the things that you have to do that you can't schedule in time to pray, read the Word, meditate on it, worship, and rest.
No doubt, we've got work to do, sis! The Bible tells us in Ephesians 2:10, “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” So let's keep pressing to fulfill each task or responsibility with the Holy Spirit's wisdom, grace, and power mixed with proper planning, diligence, and rest. Amen!
Remember, Jesus is coming back soon! And those who endure unto the end shall be saved. So let’s be ready from the Inside Out!
